         A MOVEMENT OF GRACE  is a music memoir about how the art form helped Purdie cope with life in foster care as a young teen, college student, and young adult woman who learns to forgive her past and love herself, despite her own shortcomings and the curve balls of life in general. Written during the most recent pandemic, Quelyn blends her story with intentional and careful placement of some of her favorite songs (titles) produced by many of today's iconic musicians, to punctuate the healing power of music in her young life, and during the pandemic, and the vital role of the art form today. 

          A MOVEMENT OF GRACE: My Soundtrack of Liberation and the Role of Music Today is a story of grit, resilience, soul, and gratitude, laced with humor and love.  AMG intends to elevate hope and inspire a more respectful and passionate appreciation for the vital role of music in today’s world.  Music is an essential expression that electrifies our nervous system and nurses us back to sanity.  Music is a movement of Grace.

          A Movement of Grace: My Soundtrack of Liberation and the Role of Music Today opens with a melodious invocation song (title) by a world-renowned pop artist (p. v), and ends with an invitation by a world-renowned gospel musician to celebrate the very life force - God - that got us still here, still breathing! (p. 186).
